My Mazda Service

My Mazda Service is the maintenance monitoring feature that alerts you of maintenance needs by turning on the wrench indicator light and/or displaying a specific message in the instrument panel.

In any case, every maintenance must be done within 20,000 km or 12 months at the latest after the previous maintenance, whichever of the three events (20,000 km, 12 months or display/wrench indication) occurs first.

L: Lubricate

C: Clean

T: Tighten

D: Drain

Remarks:

  1. In the countries below, inspect the spark plugs at every 10,000 km (6,250 miles) or 12 months before replacing them at the said interval.

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine

  2. If the vehicle is operated in very dusty or sandy areas, clean and if necessary, replace the air filter more often than the recommended intervals.

  3. Flexible setting is factory preset for some countries in Europe. Consult an Authorised Mazda Repairer for details. Flexible setting can be set if the vehicle is operated mainly where none of the following conditions apply.

    1. Purpose of vehicle use is police car, taxi or driving school car.

    2. Driving in dusty conditions

    3. Extended periods of idling or low speed operation

Once the flexible maintenance is selected, the vehicle calculates the remaining oil life based on engine operating conditions and lets you know when an oil change is due by illuminating the wrench indicator light in the instrument cluster.

Reset the engine oil data whenever replacing the engine oil regardless of the message/wrench indicator light display.

  4. If the vehicle is operated primarily under any of the following conditions, replace the engine oil and oil filter at every 10,000 km (6,250 miles) or shorter.

    1. Purpose of vehicle use is police car, taxi or driving school car.

    2. Driving in dusty conditions

    3. Extended periods of idling or low speed operation

    4. Driving for long period in cold temperatures or driving regularly at short distance only

    5. Driving in extremely hot conditions

    6. Driving in mountainous conditions continually

  5. For Diesel engine, reset the engine oil data whenever replacing the engine oil regardless of the message/wrench indicator light display.

  6. Also inspect the air conditioner drive belts, if installed.

If the vehicle is operated primarily under any of the following conditions, inspect the drive belts at every 20,000 km (12,500 miles) or 12 months.

    1. Driving in dusty conditions

    2. Extended periods of idling or low speed operation

    3. Driving for long period in cold temperatures or driving regularly at short distance only

    4. Driving in extremely hot conditions

    5. Driving in mountainous conditions continually

  7. Use of FL-22 is recommended when replacing engine coolant. Using engine coolant other than FL-22 may cause serious damage to the engine and cooling system.

  8. Inspect the battery electrolyte level, specific gravity and outer appearance. The sealed battery only requires an outer appearance inspection.

  9. If the brakes are used extensively (for example, continuous hard driving or mountain driving) or if the vehicle is operated in extremely humid climates, replace the brake fluid annually.

  10. If the vehicle is operated primarily under any of the following conditions, replace the rear differential oil at every 45,000 km (27,000 miles).

    1. Towing a trailer or using a car-top carrier

    2. Driving in dusty, sandy or wet condition

    3. Extended periods of idling or low speed operation

    4. Repeated short trips of less than 16 km (10 miles)

  11. If this component has been submerged in water, the oil should be replaced.

  12. Tyre rotation is recommended every 10,000 km (6,250 miles).

  13. The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) initialization must be performed so that the system operates normally (if equipped).

  14. Check the tyre repair fluid expiration date every year when performing the periodic maintenance. Replace the tyre repair fluid bottle with new one before the expiration date.
