My Mazda Service

My Mazda Service is the maintenance monitoring feature that alerts you of maintenance needs by turning on the wrench indicator light and/or displaying a specific message in the instrument panel.

In any case, every maintenance must be done within 15,000 km or 12 months at the latest after the previous maintenance, whichever of the three events (15,000 km, 12 months or display/wrench indication) occurs first.

R: Replace

C: Clean

T: Tighten

L: Lubricate

D: Drain

Remarks:

  1. If the vehicle is operated primarily under any of the following conditions, replace the engine oil and oil filter at every 7,500 km (4,650 miles) or shorter.

    1. Purpose of vehicle use is police car, taxi or driving school car.

    2. Driving in dusty conditions

    3. Extended periods of idling or low speed operation

    4. Driving for long period in cold temperatures or driving regularly at short distance only

    5. Driving in extremely hot conditions

    6. Driving in mountainous conditions continually

  2. The vehicle calculates the remaining oil life based on engine operating conditions and lets you know when an oil change is due by illuminating the wrench indicator light in the instrument cluster.

Replace the engine oil and filter when message/wrench indicator light is ON. And they must be changed at least once a year or within 15,000 km since last engine oil and filter change.

The system must be reset whenever replacing the engine oil regardless of the message/wrench indicator light display.

  3. Also inspect the air conditioner drive belts, if equipped.

If the vehicle is operated primarily under any of the following conditions, inspect the drive belts at every 15,000 km or 12 months.

    1. Driving in dusty conditions

    2. Extended periods of idling or low speed operation

    3. Driving for long period in cold temperatures or driving regularly at short distance only

    4. Driving in extremely hot conditions

    5. Driving in mountainous conditions continually

    6. Driving for long period in extremely wet or heavy rain condition

  4. Use of FL-22 is recommended when replacing engine coolant. Using engine coolant other than FL-22 may cause serious damage to the engine and cooling system.

  5. If the vehicle is operated in very dusty or sandy areas, clean and if necessary, replace the air filter more often than the recommended intervals.

  6. Inspect the battery electrolyte level, specific gravity and outer appearance. The sealed battery only requires an outer appearance inspection.

  7. If the brakes are used extensively (for example, continuous hard driving or mountain driving) or if the vehicle is operated in extremely humid climates, replace the brake fluid annually.

  8. If this component has been submerged in water, the oil should be replaced.

  9. Tyre rotation is recommended every 10,000 km.

  10. Check the tyre repair fluid expiration date every year when performing the periodic maintenance. Replace the tyre repair fluid bottle with new one before the expiration date.

  11. If DTC P1200 is stored, clean the fuel system by Mazda genuine deposit cleaner.

If the required tool (M-MDS) is not available, clean the fuel system by Mazda genuine deposit cleaner without performing self-test.

Using non-genuine deposit cleaner would cause an internal failure in the fuel system.

  12. If the vehicle is operated primarily under any of the following conditions, perform "Self-test with Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS)" at every 7,500 km (4,650 miles).

    1. The vehicle is idled for long periods or driven at low speeds, such as with police cars, taxis, or driver's education school car.

    2. Driving under extremely high temperature conditions.
