Wrench Indicator Light (Some Models)

When the ignition is switched ON, the wrench indicator light is illuminated and then turns off after a few seconds.

When illuminated

The wrench indicator light is illuminated when the preset maintenance period arrives. Verify the content and perform maintenance.

(SKYACTIV-D 1.5)

The wrench indicator light turns on under the following conditions:

  • The engine oil has deteriorated.

  • The engine oil level is around the MIN mark on the dipstick or it is less than the MIN mark. (Some Models)

  • The engine oil level is around the X mark on the dipstick or it exceeds the X mark. (Some Models)

Check the engine oil. Refer to Inspecting Engine Oil Level (Search).

Replace the engine oil if the wrench indicator light does not turn off even though the engine oil level is in the normal range.

 


  • Depending on the vehicle use conditions, the wrench indicator light may turn on for reasons other than the preset maintenance period.

  • Whenever the engine oil is replaced, a reset of the vehicle engine control unit necessary.

    Your Authorised Mazda Repairer will be able to reset the engine control unit or see (Search) for the Vehicle engine control unit reset procedure.

When flashing (SKYACTIV-D 1.5, SKYACTIV-D 2.2)

The sedimentor separates water from the fuel.

If water accumulates in this filter, the warning light will flash. When it does, consult an expert repairer, we recommend an Authorised Mazda Repairer as soon as possible.
