Operation

Siren triggering conditions

The siren sounds intermittently and the hazard warning lights flash for about 30 seconds when the system is triggered by any one of the following:

  • Unlocking a door with the key or an inside door-lock knob.

  • Forcing open a door, the bonnet or the liftgate/boot lid.

  • Opening the bonnet by operating the bonnet release handle.

  • Switching the ignition ON without using the push button start.

  • The intrusion sensor detects a movement in the vehicle.

The system will be triggered again (up to 10 times) if one of the above conditions remains.

  • Disconnecting the battery terminal (the hazard warning lights do not flash).

The system will be triggered about 10 times.

  • If the battery goes dead while the theft-deterrent system is armed, the siren will activate and the hazard warning lights will flash when the battery is charged or replaced.
